February 28, 2012

BCWBS and Douglas College will be hosting BC - Canadian Wheelchair Basketball League Provincial Finals this weekend, March 2-4, at Douglas College New Westminster campus and David Lam campus.

BC-CWBL Provincial Finals
Dates: March 2 - 4 (Fri - Sun)
Venues:   Douglas College New Westminster (Fri) & Douglas College David Lam (Sat & Sun)
Game Schedule: Click here
Teams:
Division 2 - Pool A: Vintage Cable Cars, Gold Rush Juvenile, Tacoma Titans
Pool B: Kamloops Bull-Dawgs, Victoria, Okanagan Thunder, BC Breakers
Division 1 - Douglas College Royals, Douglas College Lions

Division 2 is a recreational-competitive league featuring seven teams from across the province and WA, USA. Cable Cars and Kamloops have been the top two so far. Last year's champions Victoria is still going strong this year although not placed at the very top currently. Joining the league for the first time is Tacoma from WA, which has speed and power. Okanagan has a balance team and Gold Rush and BC Breakers are very young team but have been improving rapidly. Many close games are expected over the weekend and anyone could be this year's champions now.

Division 1 features two teams, Douglas College Royals and Douglas College Lions. Lions seemed to dominate the season up until the mid-season. However, Royals came back strong last two games and now we need to wait until last two games are played this weekend to find out who the champions will be. Division 1 team is a competitive league and many of the players are previous and current national team or provincial team players.

Everyone is welcome to come watch the games. No admissions.

Our sincere thanks to our sponsors:
