Team BC finishes CWBL Tournament in Calgary with 2-2 record

March 12, 2018

In an action packed CWBL tournament weekend (March 10-11, 2018), in Calgary at the Repsol Centre, Team BC finished with a 2-2 record.

With players representing all regions of the province, and one from south of the border, it was great to be able to test our skills and team dynamics against some great teams from Edmonton (AB Northern Lights), Saskatchewan (Club 99) and host team Calgary Grizzlies.  Our roster included Ben Hagkull (Chilliwack), Ivan Yeung (Vancouver), Aidan Love (Victoria), Bryan Shore (Kelowna), Richard Peter (Vancouver),  Bo Hedges (Wonowon), Stuart Olsen (Seattle) and coached by Simon Cass (Victoria).

Highlights from the weekend included first ever CWBL points for rookie Yeung, to big plays executed by veteran national team players Hedges and Peters along side Ben Hagkull who will be heading to Quebec later this week for Junior Nationals.

The Men's CWBL Championships will be held in Saskatoon May 4-6, 2018 and we will be looking to improve on our 2nd place finish from 2017.

Thanks again to Calgary Grizzlies, Wheelchair Sports Alberta and Repsol Centre for hosting us.
