Prince George Lumberjacks Wheelchair Basketball club receives new funding.

June 20, 2018

Please join us in congratulating Prince George Lumberjacks Wheelchair Basketball club on receiving new grant funding to help make their community more accessible.

Through the Northern Sport Accessibility Initiative (NSAI) Grant, viaSport and its funding partners are proud to allocate $100,000 to eight organizations in four different Northern B.C. communities. This funding will support these organizations delivering sport, recreation and physical activity at the community level to bring impactful change for persons with disabilities.

Funded by the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture and the Canadian Paralympic Committee, the Northern Sport Accessibility Initiative (NSAI) was a three-year pilot project to expand access to sport and recreation for people with disabilities living in Northern B.C.

The Prince George Lumberjacks, under the guidance of their coach Rob Stiles, is looking to build on the llegacy started by Pat and Nancy Harris, who have spearheaded wheelchair sports and accessibility in the North for the past 30+ years.  Congratulations on a great first year Prince George.
