Joe Higgins Inducted into Delta Sports Hall of Fame

October 6, 2016

He's given back to the wheelchair basketball community in innumerable ways, and now he's getting his due. Joe Higgins will be inducted into the Delta Sport Hall of Fame during a gala on Oct. 22nd.

For over 30 years, Joe has been an athlete, coach, mentor and builder. He coached Canada's women's wheelchair basketball team to its first gold medal in 1992, and the junior team to a gold medal in 1997. The decorated coach also has a reputation as a tenacious recruiter. The story of his persistence is chronicled in this story about his impact on Amanda Yan.

Congratulations to Joe Higgins, and thank you for your incredible impact on our sport!
