Comox Club Had a Blast at Their Skills and Game Day

February 21, 2017

BCWBS visited the Comox Valley Wheelchair Sports Club on February 17 & 18.

On the 17th, we visited their regular practice on Friday nights at the Comox Recreation Centre and found 16 people including a couple of guests from Lower Mainland and a couple of new local participants attending! They enjoyed 4 on 4 scrimmages in a very friendly environment.

On the 18th, the club hosted a skills and game day at the Queneesh Elemantary School in Courtenay. Simon Cass, BCWBS Provincial Coach, was invited to the event and he ran some skill development drills in the morning and helped run a couple of games with a referee in the afternoon. 15 players including the club members from Comox area and a few guest players from Victoria and Lower Mainland attended the event and everyone pushed hard although there were always big smiles on their faces.

You can find more photos from the weekend on our Facebook Page.

Big thanks to Rene who is the club rep and his club members who hosted this great event with Rene!
All the Comox members had such a positive attitude and we could see that they are really keen to enjoy and share the sport with everybody else. If you are interested in trying the sport in Comox, please contact the club. The information can be found here.
