BCWBS Debuts New Coaching Team

September 23, 2015

In honour of National Coaches Week, BC Wheelchair Basketball Society is excited to announce new changes to our coaching staff. Congratulations to our new provincial coach, Simon Cass, who has been promoted from his previous role as the regional coach.  Makiko Harada will take on the regional coaching duties in addition to her position as our Manager of Program Development.

BCWBS is also thrilled to announce that Marni Abbott-Peter, our previous provincial coach, will be staying on as the Director of Let’s Play. Marni has been instrumental to Let’s Play’s success and this move will allow her to develop the program to its fullest potential. Marni will also stay on to help Simon transition into his role.

“BC Wheelchair Basketball Society has a legacy of amazing coaches and we’re so pleased to see that tradition continue with the appointment of Simon Cass to the role of provincial coach,” said BC Wheelchair Basketball Society Executive Director Sian Blyth. “We’re looking forward to this season and to the many new opportunities ahead.”

Congratulations to Simon, Marni and Makiko on their new roles. We can't wait for this season!
