BC Wheelchair Basketball Society To Host the 2016 CWBL National Championships

October 20, 2015

BC Wheelchair Basketball Society is thrilled to announce that we will be hosting the 2016 CWBL National Championships from April 22-24 at the Tournament Capital Centre in Kamloops. The tournament will feature competitive club teams of both male and female participants from across Canada.

“BC has a rich history of hosting premier national wheelchair basketball events and we are thrilled to see this province play host to our competitive league championships in 2016,” said Wheelchair Basketball Canada Executive Director Wendy Gittens.

BC has a strong history of event hosting. We recently hosted the 2014 Canadian Women's Wheelchair Basketball Championships at the Richmond Olympic Oval. Hosting the event in Kamloops will allow us to increase wheelchair basetball participation in the region.

"We can't wait to welcome top Canadian athletes to Kamloops and showcase our sport," said BCWBS Executive Director Sian Blyth.
