BC Wheelchair Basketball names 2022 BC Games Sport Chairs

March 1, 2021

With the BC Games 1 year away, BCWBS is excited to announce the following Okanagan sport leaders as our wheelchair basketball Sport chair, and Assistant Sport chair for the 2022 BC Games coming to Vernon, February 24-27, 2022.

Joining BCWBS as volunteer Sport chair is Scott James.

James lives and works in the BC Interior, based in Kelowna and is a member of the SCI- BC Peer networking team and leads the wheelchair rugby club in the region. As the Okanagan Program Coordinator for both SCI BC and BC Wheelchair Sports, he now he gets to live his passion while supporting others to do the same. Today you can find Scotty out camping, playing wheelchair tennis and wheelchair rugby, or just having a few cold ones somewhere in the beautiful Okanagan.  Click to read more about Scott's journey.

In the role of Assistant Sport chair, we welcome Kay Fulford.

Kay, who also lives in the BC interior, has been actively involved with adapted sport, through her roles with Vancouver Adaptive Snowsports, the Canadian Adaptive Snow Sports Association and various other adaptive sport roles. She also brings a wealth of experience from her time volunteering with the 2010 Vancouver Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and the Lake Louise Audi FIS ski world cup alpine races. Click to learn more about Kay and her wealth of adapted sport experience.

BCWBS is grateful to have such vast experience in adapted sport with Scott and Kay and we are excited to have them in these volunteer roles, supporting wheelchair basketball and the BC Games in Vernon.
