The B.C. Men's Basketball team headed off to the Canadian National Wheelchair Basketball Championships in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan in search of their fourth successive title. The team played their first game of the tournament against Team Alberta. B.C. were able to take control of the game early. They lead 15 - 9 at the end of the first quarter and then proceeded to increase their lead to have a comfortable 39 - 16 advantaged at half time. During the second half all team members and a variety of line ups were utilized in preparation for future games in the tournament. The final score saw B.C. win 63 - 47. Erik Hagreen was top scorer with 18 points, closely followed by Kevin Bowie who scored 12 points at 100% shooting accuracy and Bo Hedges with 10 points.

The 8th annual Rick Hansen Wheels In Motion, presented by Scotiabank, takes place across Canada on Sunday, June 13. The Wheels In Motion Vancouver Event will once again be held at the PNE. This event supports many BC Wheelchair Basketball programs such as the City League and Junior Challenge as well as BC Wheelchair Sports Association programs including Bridging the Gap. The BC Wheelchair Basketball Society has a long history steeped in the glory of its founders, athletes and coaches, and Marni 'Moose' Abbott-Peter embodies all the things that the BCWBS holds dear: hard work, commitment, and a dedication to the sport that is unequalled. This past weekend, Marni returned to the courts in Saskatoon after a three year absence to complete her collection of championships with the only one that had eluded her: a CWBL Women's Club National Championship.
On March 19 and 20th, Kelowna held it's 3rd annual Jamboree! This year we had 44 athletes plus coaches and fans attend from Vancouver, Kamloops, Kelowna, Calgary, and Spokane which was a new addition this year!
